An international and interdisciplinary collective has been making waves in Berlin’s underground scene for over half a decade. Sonic Interventions has everything it takes to become a true sensation in today’s jazz scene. Their debut album “Do You Remember?” (2024) still ranks among the most exciting stylistic fusions to be heard in the capital’s vibrant musical scene these days. Physical Afrobeat collides here with Funk, the energy of a tight-knit big band with the danceabilitiy of the Cumbia, as well as Hip Hop, House and Free Jazz.
Of course, the collective’s name wasn’t chosen just because it sounds cool. Instead, it perfectly captures the energy of their jams and the recording process.
