Praia Vermelha Do Sul was born during a New Year’s week in Ubatuba, on the coast of São Paulo, when Leo and a group of friends were together in a house to celebrate the Holidays. The atmosphere reflected a typical Brazilian summer: days shaped by friendship, free time, and the beach. Fragments of that experience were captured in audios that became part of the songs.
On the final day of the stay, sitting together in the living room, the song was written collectively by Leo Middea, Tom Ribeira, Thomé and Anais Boutaud – but with the helping hands of the other friends. Multiple ideas came up naturally into the process — almost as an extension of the photograph that illustrates the cover artwork. This time, however, the memory was preserved in sound.

The song’s starting point came from a phrase spoken on New Year’s Eve that quickly turned into an inside joke and, by the following day, was being repeated playfully by everyone: “Viva todos os beijos do Brasil e do mundo” (“Long live all the kisses from Brazil and the world”). Eternalized
in the song, the phrase unfolds into a celebration of encounters, Brazilian summer, and affection as a universal language. The track carries Leo Middea’s signature warm and Brazilian sound, blending group vocals recorded with the friends who were present on the trip — reinforcing a sense of intimacy and collectiveness — with trombone and trumpet by Antonio Neves, which expand the feeling of summertime, lightness, and joy. More than portraying a specific place or moment, Praia Vermelha do Sul creates an emotiona territory where unhurried goodbyes, farewell kisses, and the desire to eternalize fleeting moments can exist. It is about being together, about expressing without words, about living in the present with the intensity that only summer allows — fittingly released at the height of the Brazilian summer, as a reminder of how essential it is to celebrate these moments collectively.
