We are more than lucky that BARETO, one of Peru’s go-to psychedelic cumbia protagonists, signed a deal with our brave label out of Germany. Their inimitable pan-international sound has drawn them a massive fan base not just in Peru but across the South American continent, in Europe, US and further afield.
The group’s travels have seen them nominated for 2 Latin Grammys in 2013 and 2015 after which they began touring significantly across the world from the USA to UK and Europe. Originally from Peru’s capital Lima, the group have released four albums previously with many reclaimed classic Peruvian cumbias and chichas under their belts to which they’ve added their own, often riotous mix of, psychedelic rock, Latin, reggae, ska, son and merengue.
