MOMO. is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist influenced by a lifetime of living in Brazil, Angola, the US, Spain, Portugal, and currently the UK. With seven albums to his name, his work has been internationally acclaimed. His latest record, Gira, was recently named in Mojo’s Top 10 World Music Albums of the Year and in Songlines’s Top of the World listing.

His 2006 debut album, A Estética do Rabisco, was hailed as a cornerstone of modern Brazilian psychedelia, influenced by legends like Os Mutantes and the Tropicália movement. Over seven subsequent records, MOMO. refined his ability to evoke both nostalgia and novelty, a quality that’s caught the ear of icons like David Byrne and Patti Smith. His participation on the 70th birthday album for Caetano Veloso, A Tribute to Caetano, further cemented his place in Brazil’s rich musical lineage.

Described by NPR as “an artist who transcends place,” MOMO. continues to expand the boundaries of contemporary Brazilian music.

MOMO. reconciles his Brazilian upbringing and identity with his recent UK and London life on a brand-new record, sung in Portuguese and English, built around the idea of continuity and forward momentum featuring guest appearances from Bossa Nova and Brazilian legend Marcos Valle and Smoke City’s Nina Miranda.

Recorded live in South London with his tight-knit band including long-standing collaborators and UK jazz trombonist Rosie Turton, “Tum Tum Tum” is a free flowing, warm, expansive and fully assured album, his 8th to date and exudes a playfulness, a sense of someone who is truly in their element and at peace when writing and recording.

The first single “Egum Eô” is a wonderfully Brazilian opening and sets the scene perfectly with MOMO.’s vocal sounding much like the album’s title ‘Tum Tum Tum’, pushing the positivity sky high in unison with a gorgeous horn hook. The broken groove slowly rolls in like a curling surf-perfect wave before the band all join the jam leaving the listener joyfully entranced.

Kay Slice’s music is more than meets the ear. He channels a movement. His sound moves beyond borders, blending highlife rhythms and poetic verses into a sonic force that connects the soul of Africa with its scattered children across the globe. Slice is rooted in legacy but speaks to the now. Bold, layered, and deeply aware. This isn’t fusion. It’s ancestral alignment with a futuristic edge. From the electrifying grooves of West Africa to the sharp truths of Hip Hop, Kay’s music isn’t merely entertainment, it’s a cultural awakening. His performances are highlights: Ghanaian drums, balafon chants, and rhythmic prophecy shaking stages to their core. His storytelling is vivid, raw, and intentional. The immigrant experience reimagined through sound and soul. Following his powerful debut From Back To Back, Kay is stepping into full artistic clarity. In 2026, it all comes to a head with Take U Highlife. Kay’s next album is forged across borders, driven by the spirit of his Ghanaian ensemble, co-produced by Kay and Anton de Bruin (Dragonfruit, Peter Somuah).

This project is a love letter to highlife, elevated with modern energy. It’s where live tradition meets digital innovation. It’s where the past meets the now and sets fire to the future. Take U Highlife embodies the energy of independence. A constant flow rather than a fixed path. From the Afro-diaspora to the motherland, it captures the unbroken rhythm of cultural connection, evolution, and self-discovery. It touches on cultural heritage, identity, empowerment, representation and thought provoking themes. Encapsulates a full spectrum flowing from Highlife, Afrobeat, Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul to rooted sounds. Crosses boundaries between poetry, music & visual art Ghanaian yet Afro diaspora energetic yet introspective.
No longer bound by survival, he’s moving like a general of sound. Leading with grace, grounded in legacy, but always forward-moving. His shows? Think rituals. Think liberation. Think sweat, spirit, and rhythm. Kay Slice isn’t finding his voice. He is the voice of diasporic pride, ancestral rhythm, and future Africa.

Rio De Janeiro troubadour, guitarist and songwriter Leo Middea has been writing since he can remember. His love for Brazil, the music, flavours, energy and its contrasts are rendered through his songs, his lyrics a homage to Brazilian people and culture, and a musician’s life, on the road.

Leo Middea’s trajectory took a dramatic twist in 2015, when he was just 20 years old, leaving behind his family and his guitar for India where he would spend some much-needed time taking stock and meditating on a silent retreat, following the loss of his father. His debut album “Dois” had released the previous year but music was the last thing on his mind during this revolutionary recharge.

Fast forward to 10 years and Leo prepares for his 6th album, and follows a whirlwind year of touring, from his base in Barcelona, Spain. In 2024 he was a finalist and runner up in the Portuguese Song Festival, Portugal’s’ national TV talent show – a first for a Brazilian. Non-stop touring in Europe in 2025 also included a stop off at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival, a milestone in Leo’s career to date.

Organic and joyful, Afro-Brazilian energised trio, Trinka reveal a mellow and life affirming glow on their debut 6 track EP. It features original lyrics from various lusophone writers including José Eduardo Agualusa from Angola, a mix of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, voice, synth and guitar, and was conceived and made in Lisbon

For the curious outsider, Lisbon has long been considered a slice of southern European authenticity with its winding streets and hidden, sign-less restaurants. In recent years it’s become the working backpacker’s stop-off, a wi-fi spot for tech savvy entrepreneurs and an unofficial tax retreat for the wealthy.

Yet for those leaning towards music and culture, especially the musicians and singers from Brazil and the wider Lusophone world, Lisbon is a burgeoning hub, a creative node for the wired-in diaspora and has also became a European centre for Afro-Portuguese and Afro-Brazilian culture where immigrants and musical nomads from Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola and beyond relate, many whose spirituality provides a structure to their identity and their roaming musical mission.

Dandara Modesto is a Brazilian singer and a spiritual practitioner of Candomble (a religion brought to Brazil from Africa by the enslaved populations), who now resides in Switzerland. Along with Portuguese writer and producer João Pires (Coladera) and Brazilian percussionist Juninho Ibituruna (Graveola, Tizumba), she is part of a brand new contemporary Brazilian trio called Trinka.
